What do we do?

The Propulsion subsystem is responsible for for all hardware associated with engines including plumbing, valves, and the pressurant system.

Meet the Team

Ravi Patel

Ravi Patel

Propulsion Lead

Ravi Patel is from South Plainfield, New Jersey. He is majoring in Nuclear Engineering and expected to graduate in Spring of 2020. He joined Lunar Lion the Fall of his sophomore year and has been part of the team for a year and a half now. The main project he has been working on is PETS II (Peroxide Engine Test Stand II).

Scott Cicero

Scott is a Junior in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Fuels and Energy from Pittsburgh, PA. He joined the Propulsion Subsystem  in Fall 2015 to introduce himself to the applications of his field and to learn valuable skills from the experienced members and leaders of the team. As a Chemical Engineer, Scott is primarily interested in the reactions which lead to Lynx’s production of thrust, and enjoys working with a majority of Aerospace Engineering members to achieve a common goal. Scott is also a member of Victory Christian Fellowship, and loves to play inline hockey in is free time.

Tyler Farra

Tyler is a Junior majoring in Aerospace Engineering from Doylestown, PA. He joined Lunar Lion in the fall of 2015. Since his dad is a recreational pilot he has always been interested in planes and flight. At Penn State Tyler is also involved with the SAE Aero Design team, where they design, test, and build a remote controlled aircraft to compete in the SAE flight competition.

Tim Walsh

Tim is a junior majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Mechanics. He is from Scranton, Pennsylvania, and he joined the Propulsion team in the fall of 2017. In his free time, Tim enjoys competing in intramural sports and volunteering for THON through his fraternity.

Nathan Osikowicz

Nathan is a Freshman intending to major in Aerospace Engineering.  Hailing from ­­­Pittsburgh, PA, he gained an interest in lunar exploration by touring Astrobotic Technology Inc. in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.  He subsequently enrolled at Penn State and joined the Lunar Lion team in Fall 2017 to gain hands-on experience while working towards his major.  Nathan is driven by the desire to expand humanity’s footprint.  In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing and hiking central PA.

Ian Wagner

Ian is a sophomore intending on majoring in Aerospace Engineering from Phoenixville, PA. He joined
Lunar Lion in the fall of 2017 and is part of the Propulsion Subsystem team. He has been interested in
space and rocketry for the vast majority of his life and joined Lunar Lion to continue pursuing those
interests. In his spare time, Ian plays various sports and runs.

He joined the team in the fall of 2017. Marcus has always had a growing interest in all things that fly since joining his first rocket club in middle school. Lunar Lion’s Propulsion team proved to be the perfect outlet to explore his goals and future. He frequently travels abroad and looks forward to joining more clubs and making new friends.

Daniel Rodrigues

Daniel is a Freshman from Buffalo, New York intending on majoring in Aerospace Engineering. As a member of the Lunar Lion Propulsion subsystem, he intends on becoming a Test Technician and interested in the Data Analysis Team. Outside of school, he plays soccer, loves to run, and is currently an intramural referee for I.M. sports.
